Harald von Witzke

Harald von Witzke is a German agricultural economist . Until his retirement he was professor for international agricultural trade and development at the Humboldt University in Berlin .

Life

Witzke studied agricultural sciences at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen ( Dipl.-Ing. , 1974). There he received his doctorate (1977) and habilitation (1982). From 1983 to 1994 he was a professor at the University of Minnesota . Since then he has been a professor at the HU.

job

Witzke's research areas are international trade and economic development, food security , quality standards in international trade, distributive effects of globalization in agriculture, as well as global warming and agriculture.
