Hartmut Kohlmetz

Hartmut Kohlmetz (* 1946 ) is a German journalist and author.

Life

In 1976 Kohlmetz was head of department at the Berliner Zeitung in East Berlin , which at the time was part of the SED press monopoly. On a return trip from Bavaria , he was checked at the Ludwigsstadt border crossing , which led to protests by the head of the permanent representations of the German Democratic Republic , Michael Kohl , as well as press reports. In the 1980s, Kohlmetz published several writings in what was then the SED party publisher Dietz , which ideologically supported the position of the SED Central Committee.
