Hartmut Riemenschneider (Germanist)

Hartmut Riemenschneider (born November 2, 1940 in Hagen in Westphalia ) is a German German philologist , Romanist and church musician .

Life

After graduating from high school in Hagen, Riemenschneider studied German , Romance studies and musicology at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg . After completing his studies, he worked as a high school assistant in Geneva in the school year 1964/65. In 1969 he was with his dissertation on Maeterlinck The influence of Maurice Maeterlinck on German literature to Expressionism Dr. phil. PhD. In 1974 he completed his habilitation at the University of Dortmund . He was then appointed to a professorship in German studies at the university, which he held until his retirement in 2005. In 1980 Riemenschneider was one of the founders of the Hagen Organ Days.
