Hartmut Riemenschneider (Pastor)

Hartmut Riemenschneider (born July 15, 1958 in Hofgeismar ) is a German Baptist pastor and was President of the Federation of Evangelical Free Churches (BEFG) from May 2009 to May 2015 , in which Baptist and Brethren congregations are united.

Life

Hartmut Riemenschneider comes from an Evangelical-Free Church pastor family. From 1980 to 1985 he studied theology at the theological seminar of the Federation of Evangelical Free Churches in Hamburg-Horn and then completed a three-year period as a probationary pastor in the Baptist congregation Wetter (Ruhr) . In 1988 he was included in the list of recognized pastors of the Federation of Evangelical Free Churches. From 1990 Riemenschneider worked as a youth pastor of the Evangelical Free Church Regional Association of Rhineland. Since 1998 he has been working again in the community service as a pastor of the Baptist Evangelical Free Church Peace Church in Marl. In 2011 he moved to Pinneberg.

Hartmut Riemenschneider was appointed Vice President of the BEFG in 2007. The deaconry director Emanuel Brandt , then elected president, announced at the 2009 council meeting of the BEFG his early resignation for health reasons. With 91.3% of the votes, the 510-member synod of the Free Church appointed Riemenschneider as Brandt's successor. After a six-year term in office, Hartmut Riemenschneider handed over the presidency to his successor Michael Noss in May 2015 .

Riemenschneider is married and has three sons.
