Hartwich Brekewoldt

Hartwich Brekewoldt , also Breckwoldt (* before 1450 in Lübeck ; † 1513 or later) was Council Secretary of the Hanseatic City of Lübeck.

Life

Hartwich Brekewoldt was the son of Lübeck councilor Konrad Brekewoldt . His mother was a daughter of the Lübeck councilor Tideman Hadewerk . He matriculated in 1466 to study at the University of Rostock , where he received his bachelor's degree in the summer semester of 1468. He is proven in 1479 and 1481 as vicar at the Marienkirche in Lübeck . As a master's degree he became council secretary in Lübeck. Hartwich Brekewoldt kept the Oberstadtbuch ( land register ) as protonotary from February 1493 to the end of October 1513, which was briefly kept by the council secretary Theodericus Brandes after the retirement of the protonotary Reynerus Holloger in 1492 .
