Bunny (artwork)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The rabbit is a work of art created in 2005 by the Viennese artist group "gelitin" on the Colletto Fava near the town of Frabosa Sottana (Artesina district) in Piedmont in Italy . The artwork shows a giant pink rabbit filled with straw.

The rabbit

The hare lies at an altitude of 1,600 meters on an alpine pasture in Piedmont. It has a length of 60 meters, is up to 6 meters high and consists primarily of pink fabric filled with straw.

Photos from 2011 show that the fabric has faded and cracked in some places, with the straw filling visible.

concept

The artist group "gelitin" wants the viewer to feel as small as Gulliver on his journey through Brobdingnag. Visitors to the work of art should feel encouraged to mount the rabbit, climb on it and stay as long as they want.

durability

The hare should exist as a work of art until 2025, the artist group expects that it will have been destroyed by the weather and the cows grazing on site around this time.
