The Medical-Geriatric Clinic , formerly the Evangelical Hospital Bochum-Linden , at Dr.-C.-Otto-Straße 27 in Bochum-Linden is a former general hospital and now a specialist hospital with a focus on the medical care of the elderly. The house belongs to the Augusta-Kranken-Anstalt Bochum and thus to the Evangelical Foundation Augusta .

history

A petition to build our own hospital was approved by the general representation of the Protestant community in March 1895, and construction began in 1896. The house was inaugurated on September 19, 1897. It had 30 beds. Additions were made after the Second World War.

From 1984 to 1993, the Linden hospital leased the newly built nursing home at the Glockengarten from the city of Bochum for 30 million marks. In 1994 the senior citizens' home with a hundred single and four double rooms was completed.

The house, previously owned by the Evangelisches Krankenhaus Bochum-Linden gGmbH (Bochum District Court, HRB 1121), was taken over in 1991 by the Augusta-Kranken-Anstalt Bochum.

Short-term care was opened in 1998.

Today the house has 81 beds and the specialist departments geriatrics and geriatric psychiatry . A retirement home with 100 single apartments and four two-person apartments has been attached to it since 1994. In addition, the outpatient care service has its main location here; the branch of the nursing service is located at the Evangelical Hospital Hattingen . The rehabilitation facility has its own swimming pool.
