Hassan Sabeh

Hassan Sabeh (حسان صابح) (* 1947 in Beirut ) is a Sunni Muslim and Lebanese interior minister .

He was an army officer. As a member of parliament, he stood for the pro-Hariri -oriented future movement in the 2005 parliamentary elections and then belonged to the new government of Prime Minister Fuad Siniora as Minister of the Interior.

He resigned on February 5, 2006 in response to the setting on fire of the Danish Embassy building by demonstrators protesting against the Muhammad cartoons .

After the assassination attempt on Industry Minister Pierre Gemayel junior , he returned to office because the number of cabinet members had fallen to the minimum after the withdrawal of six ministers from Hezbollah and related parties.
