Hasso von Wedel (audiologist)

Wedigo Hasso von Wedel (* 1943 in Kolberg in Pomerania) is a German audiologist.

Life

Hasso von Wedel is a member of the Pomeranian noble family von Wedel . He is the son of the officer Wedigo von Wedel from Emmasthal in the Kolberg-Körlin district and Jutta von Wedel born. Osterwald. General Hermann Alexander Wilhelm von Wedel from Neuwedell is his great-grandfather.

After graduating from high school in Bonn and training as a reserve officer in the telecommunications force, he studied communications engineering at RWTH Aachen University . After completing his diploma, he became a research assistant in the audiological department of the University ENT Clinic in Bonn. In addition to his clinical work, he completed a second degree in phonetics and communication research at the University of Bonn with a doctorate to become a Dr. phil.

Due to his habilitation thesis "A contribution to the time-resolving ability of the hearing", he received the license to teach audiology at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn in 1982 . Between 1987 and 2008 he was Professor of Audiology and Pediatric Audiology at the University of Cologne . He is a founding and honorary member of the German Society for Audiology .
