Main connection identifier

Main connection identifier ( HKZ ) is an outdated name for the signaling procedure for analog telephone lines in the German telephone network . As the telephone line that will pulse dialing and tone dialing used. Direct dialing is not possible for telephone connections with a main connection identifier . If HKZ telephone connections are switched to a telephone system , it is not possible to directly reach a specific extension within the telephone system; here the route always goes via the inquiry station . Telephone connections with a main connection identifier are also called "main connections".
