Opened in 1897, Taipei Main Station ( Chinese 臺北 車站 ) is a train station in the Zhongzheng District in Taipei , capital of the Republic of China (Taiwan) . In 1989 today's traffic structure was opened.
It is used for local and long-distance traffic. The station is operated by the Taiwan Railway Administration , Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation and Taiwan High Speed Rail. Much of it is underground. The bus station is above ground. The Taiwan High Speed Rail bullet train has been operating here since 2007. The metro connection took place on December 25, 1997.
