Capital planning
The term capital city planning refers to the geographical, urban or architectural planning that a state undertakes with regard to its capital city .
The following levels can be differentiated into:
- Finding a new capital among several existing cities in a country, for example in the Federal Republic of Germany in 1949 (the question of the capital of the Federal Republic of Germany ), in Switzerland (the question of the capital of Switzerland ),
- the establishment of a completely new capital, a so-called planned capital , for example Brasília and Canberra
- Urban planning to implement or improve the capital city function, for example capital city planning for Berlin or Bonn
