House of Blumenau

Haus Blumenau was a manor on the right bank of the Ruhr in the area of Stiepel and Querenburg . House Herbede is on the opposite side . A branch of the von Elverfeldt family lived on the property , who called themselves von Blumenau from the second half of the 15th century . In 1578 the Johann von Elverfeldt estate belonged to Blumenau together with his wife Anna von Velmede.

The estate was cultivated until the 20th century. The remains of the foundation are now on the bottom of Lake Kemnader .
