House Gronau is a former moated castle in Strasbourg in Düren ( Nordrhein-Westfalen ) that under since July 4, 1983 listed building stands.

There are no further reports on the history of the property. At the beginning of the 19th century it was privately owned and subsequently changed hands repeatedly. The almost square stone building, surrounded by trenches, dates from the 17th and 18th centuries. At the beginning of the 20th century, the facility underwent major changes.

The adjacent courtyard includes, among other things, a large cowshed, a pigsty, a duck shed and some storage facilities. The courtyard is laid out in an open, square horseshoe shape and opens up opposite the entrance portal of the castle complex. The entrance to the courtyard, which at the time of construction was provided with an arched gate, can be reached via an asphalt access path. At the driveway to the property there is still a restored war memorial with a place to stay and an information board from the Gey / Straß hiking and traffic association.

Johann Wilhelm Joseph Braun, an outstanding humanities scholar, was born on April 27, 1801 in Haus Gronau.
