House Lyren

House Lyren was a manor in Wattenscheid , today a district of Bochum .

It was in the middle of a pond fed by the Radbecke ("Rattenbach") stream (today Gertrudisplatz), on a foundation made of oak piles. The rented house on Lyrenstrasse, built in 1798 and built from the castle walls, which have been torn down since 1795, is still preserved from the estate .

The property owned by the house also included areas on which the Holland colliery was built from 1854 .
