The Haus Rabenhorst O. Lauffs GmbH & Co. KG is a German company , which in the Rhineland-Palatinate town since 1885 Unkel fruit juices produced.
history
The company goes back to a winery founded by Johann-Heinrich Lauffs in 1805, whose operation was relocated to Unkel by Oskar Lauffs in 1885. In 1898, the company began producing the grape juice "Roter Rabenhorster" under the Rabenhorst brand, which was made durable using the then new method of pasteurization . From 1920 the brothers Günther and Walther Lauffs continued the business. In 1952 the “ Rotbäckchen ” juice was created, which has made the company known nationwide.
Products
Today, more than 50 fruit and vegetable juices and nectars made from not-from- concentrate juices are offered under the brand name Rabenhorst . Rabenhorst juices were produced in organic quality as early as the 1970s . Rabenhorst produces or sells products under the following brands:
- Rotbäckchen (not-from-concentrate juices, fruit juices, dietary supplements)
- Rabenhorst (not from concentrate juices, fruit juices, mother juices, smoothies, vegetable juices etc.)
- 3 PAULY (food for people with food allergies and intolerances)
- Flemming (organic biscuits)

criticism
In December 2013, the Higher Regional Court in Koblenz prohibited Haus Rabenhorst from using the slogan “With iron to support the ability to concentrate” for the product Rotbäckchen Lernstark . The Federal Association of Consumer Organizations had sued . There is no scientific basis for the slogan. In December 2015, the Federal Court of Justice decided in a final appeal procedure that the application of the product with the term “Lernstark” in connection with the statement “With iron to support the ability to concentrate” is permissible. Accordingly, the labeling does not violate European law. The controversial statements are covered by the Health Claims Regulation .
Awards
- The company was honored with the environmental award of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate in 2010 . The jury honored "... the long-term, continuous activities of the company for the sustainable manufacture of their products ..." .
