The listed Haus Sassendorf is located in Bad Sassendorf in North Rhine-Westphalia .

history

In 1765, Franz von Bockum-Dolffs, an heir from Elder, acquired the free Sassendorf estate from Dietrich von Roßkampf with the economic help of his brother Diedrich Goswin von Bockum-Dolffs and moved his headquarters from Soest to Bad Sassendorf towards the end of the 18th century .

The baroque mansion was built as a moated castle. The construction of today's manor house began on June 2, 1783, because the old Sassendorf estate was destroyed in the Seven Years' War and subsequently demolished. The exterior was completed in 1785. The client died a year later. His son Johann Franz von Bockum-Dolffs then had the interior work done. The expansion was not completed until 1810. The two timber-framed farm buildings border the park in front. The building on the left burned down in August 1968 and was rebuilt four years later. The German Foundation for Monument Protection supported later renovation measures on the manor house, which were completed in autumn 2006. The building has been a listed building since August 12, 1995.
