Schwarzenberg House
The listed Haus Schwarzenberg is a place of Berlin culture. It is located at Rosenthaler Straße 39 and is a tourist attraction for street art . It consists of exhibition spaces such as the Neurotitan Gallery, the Anne Frank Center , the Otto Weidt workshop for the blind , the Central Cinema, as well as studios and offices.
Surname
The name was taken from a novel by Stefan Heym . It denotes the no man's land that has no owner and is therefore free.
history
The building was DEFA headquarters and a brush workshop with a hiding place for a Jewish family. The Otto Weidt memorial plaque reminds of this.
reception
The Schwarzenberg house is a symbol of freedom and art. International artists have their main focus there.
