House X1

The House X1 in Cologne Hahnwald , Am Zehnpfennigshof 9, is under monument protection standing house by the architect Peter Neufert has built as own residence from 1961 to 1962.

The two-storey building is spanned by a clothoid-like reinforced concrete shell that is slightly canted on the supports ; the structural design comes from Stefan Polónyi . The street facade consists of differently dimensioned, slightly protruding red cubes that leave window and door openings free. In contrast, the garden side is integrally glazed and is flanked by a basin.
