The house of the architect Holowan ( Ukrainian Буди́нок архіте́ктора Голованя́ / Budynok Holovanja ) is a building in Lutsk , the capital of Volyn Oblast in Ukraine . It's in the old town, right on the banks of the Styr .

The building was planned by the Volhyn architect Rostislaw G. Metelnitskyj and after its construction by the stonemason Nikolai Holowan it was gradually decorated with various sculptures since 1980. The architectural decoration mainly shows stone sculptures of chimeras , which gave the building its name. Above the entrance there is a monogram with the Cyrillic letters Н. М. Г. , the initials of Nikolai Holowan. On the facade, a low relief depicts the family of the sculptor; it is made of green sandstone . By 2011, more than 500 sculptures had been attached to the entire house. Countless stones, fragments and sculptures of various sizes are still stored in the courtyard, which are still waiting to be completed and attached.
