The house to the quail basket (Polish: Dom Pod Przepiórczym Koszem ) is a residential and commercial building in the Lower Silesian city of Legnica (German: Liegnitz) in Poland. It is located in the inner block of the Liegnitzer Ring at Rynek 38 .

history

The house for the quail basket was built at the beginning of the 16th century. In the second half of the 16th century, the building was redesigned in the Renaissance style. It received pictures on the south facade using a sgraffito technique that has been preserved to this day. The pictures show, among other things, the triumphal procession of the Ceres , a deer hunt, depictions of dogs and cats as well as allegorical figures.

The name of the house is derived from the round bay window on the southeast corner.
