Utility room

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A utility room is a room in a house or apartment that is used to do household chores. Common activities that are performed in a utility room are:

  • To make the laundry
  • Dry your clothes
  • Iron
  • Keeping supplies

In addition, a small work surface, washing machine , tumble dryer , ironing board , iron , vacuum cleaner and other cleaning utensils that are required for house cleaning and housekeeping are usually accommodated in the utility room. Often (if there is enough space) the utility room is also used as a storage room. For this purpose, shelves and cupboards serve as storage space for supplies and cleaning agents. It is a good idea to set up a utility room to have the appliances and cleaning utensils required for housekeeping together so that they are not scattered around the apartment or house. In some single-family houses, the utility room is also used to set up supply and disposal connections. This is to be regarded as questionable, since so u. a.
