Average report

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

An accident report or accident report ( Surveyors report ) is a differentiated documentation ( reports ) about loss events in the transport sector .

The accident report documents:

  • the damage profile by describing the situation found at the site of the inspection, usually with the addition of relevant image / photo material, reproduction of statements (affected persons, witnesses, employees, etc.) and other relevant evidence and documents (freight, customs, insurance, accompanying papers).
  • the extent of damage through counting, measuring, weighing, valuation and possibilities of damage reduction.
  • the cause of the damage , insofar as this can be determined or proven.

The average report is submitted by the carrier (e.g. the captain or ship's captain) and / or an external expert ( average commissioner ) - in this case usually referred to as an average report.
