Hayashi rice ( Japanese ハ ヤ シ ラ イ ス , Hayashi raisu ) is a Japanese dish . It's made from beef and onions . They become a force sauce cooked, the red wine or tomato sauce contains. To this end, rice eaten. A similar dish is Japanese curry rice .

There are different opinions about the origin of the name. One theory has it that Yūteki Hayashi ( 早 矢 仕 有的 ), the founder of the bookstore chain Maruzen , invented the dish and it was named after him.
