Heart and Soul

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Heart and Soul was a soul fanzine that was founded in the late 1980s by Reinhard Jellen and Peter Kratochvil from Wels , a pen pal of Andreas Banaskis . As the first German print medium, the magazine was mainly concerned with Northern Soul and is considered to be the initiator for the spread of this music in German-speaking countries.

In addition to numerous reviews, Heart and Soul also contained philosophical reflections such as the now legendary text Arrogance and Further Development . In addition to Jellen and Kratochvil, Hartmut Hackl , Ralf Kemper , Michael Reinboth and Olaf Karnik also wrote for the fanzine.
