Movie

The television film Emergency Call for Christmas was first broadcast on December 12, 2010 on the Canadian broadcaster CBS . The German-language premiere broadcast of the German Free TV transmitter VOX in two parts on 22 and 23 December 2011. The screenplay was written by Heather Conkie, directed by Dean Bennett.

It's Christmas on Heartland, the ranch is being decorated and a Christmas tree is being put up. Everyone is looking forward to the holy festival, but a few incidents depress the mood. First Mallory gets a call from her parents who tell her that they cannot fly home due to the bad weather, so Mallory has to spend Christmas without her parents on the horse ranch for the first time. Lou is irritable and orders everyone around because her boyfriend Peter doesn't make it home in time for Christmas. Ty receives a call from a distraught boy from Pike River who tells of a herd trapped in the mountains and starving due to an avalanche. Ty and Amy decide to provide the horses with hay and blankets and want to find a way to help them. When they arrive in Pike River, they encounter displeasure among the villagers when they mention the horses. Ty and Amy try to convince the villagers to help free the horses. After all, everyone helps together, a passage for the horses can be dug through the enormous snow masses and the herd is saved. Mallory's parents make it home in time, Lou's friend Peter surprises them on Christmas Eve, Amy and Ty are happy to have saved the herd and so it will be a peaceful Christmas.

Amy and Ty find Mr. Hanley dead on his farm. His horses and the property are to be foreclosed. Amy had promised Mr. Hanley to take care of the horses and is buying them while Mrs. Bell, who grew up on the farm, buys the property which she will eventually give to Peter and Lou.
