Christopher Jay Potter (born August 23, 1960 in Toronto , Ontario ) is a Canadian television actor .

life and career

Chris Potter was born as the eldest child of Ron and Judith Potter. He has two siblings. In high school , Potter was already a successful athlete and planned to pursue a professional career, but his father advised against it. He later dropped out of college to become a rock musician , but then discovered his love for the theater. He earned his living as a worker on an oil rig , as a car salesman and finally as an insurance broker in his father's company.

Potter came to television in 1990. After several advertising appearances and a first real television role in Material World , he finally achieved his breakthrough with the role of Shaolin cop Peter Caine in the series Kung Fu - In the Sign of the Dragon . Since then, he has played roles in several television series and movies and for some episodes of Silk Stalkings directed out. For his role in the series Sex Traffic , he was nominated for best supporting actor for the Gemini Award (Canadian film award). In addition, the film was made available for election in 13 other categories.

Potter had his first role in a movie in 2005 in The Babynator alongside Vin Diesel .

In addition to his activity as an actor, he recorded the CD "Tourmaline". He is also a member of the "All Stars Hockey Team", which works for charitable purposes.

Chris Potter lives near Toronto with his wife Karen, whom he married in 1988, and their four children.
