Lever (noble family)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The von Hebel are an old Hessian knight family who named themselves after the village of Hebel , which is now a district of Wabern .

Konrad von Hebel was associated with the construction of the upper castle Falkenberg near Wabern in the 13th century , which was built on the strategically and economically important road from Hersfeld to Fritzlar, Gudensberg and Kassel. The sons of Konrad von Hebel call themselves Valkenberc (Falkenberg) from 1250 and are first mentioned under this name in a document from Count Gottfried I von Ziegenhain . The male line died out in 1521.
