Cam lock

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Lever locks , which are also called lever cylinders, have a very simple design for locking sheet metal doors, such as letter boxes, steel cabinets or the like.

The lever cylinder is just the cylinder and housing on the back of which a tongue is attached. The tongue works directly as a lock bolt , which is moved into the open and closed position by turning the key.

These simple lever cylinders are usually made of die-cast and have disc locking devices . But there are also lever cylinders with pin tumbler, so that they can also be combined with a locking system . Then the mailbox can be used with the same key as the front door.
