Heddal bygdetun is an open-air museum in Heddal , 6 km west of the center of the municipality of Notodden , Vestfold og Telemark , Norway . The courtyard is a farm and consists of listed buildings and exhibits from the Middle Ages to 1930. Some buildings were moved from their historical locations to the current museum grounds and rebuilt. The museum is owned by the Heddalsvatnet and Notodden Museums Society and has been managed by the Norwegian Industrial Workers Museum since 2010 . In the summer potatoes, vegetables and herbs are planted in the museum, and chickens and rabbits are kept. The museum is about 300 meters from Heddal Stave Church , the largest surviving stave church. The museum is open every summer from June 15th to August 15th.
