Army Group Yıldırım

The Army Group Yıldırım (or Jildirim , Ottoman for "lightning"), also Army Group F, was an army group of the Ottoman Army during World War I , which was deployed on the Palestine front and existed from 1917 until the end of the war. It consisted of the 4th, 7th and 8th Ottoman Armies, the latter being new formations. Its first commander-in-chief was Erich von Falkenhayn, the former Prussian war minister and chief of staff , from June 1917, and general of the cavalry Otto Liman von Sanders from February 25, 1918 until the end of the war . After the Mudros armistice on October 30, 1918, Mustafa Kemal took over command until it was dissolved a few days later. The German Asia Corps was assigned to the Army Group .
