Heffners / Ortvikens IF
The Heffners / Ortvikens IF (short: HOIF) is a Swedish sports club from Sundsvall founded in 1898 .
history
The club was founded in 1898 as Heffners IF. The ice hockey department first appeared nationwide in the 1946 season , when it took part in the Swedish championship , which was then still held in cup mode . The greatest success in the club's history was participation in Division 1 , the then highest Swedish league, in the 1970/71 season , but the team went straight back to the second-rate Division 2 . Due to competition from IF Sundsvall Hockey , the ice hockey department is currently inactive. In the 1975/76 season , the team went to Division 1, which was second class at that time.
The football department , whose greatest success was participation in the third-highest division, is a member of the Medelpad Fotbollförbund .
