The Heidelberg Autumn is a street festival that takes place annually on the last weekend in September in Heidelberg's old town and now also in Bergheim and also on Sundays. More than 100,000 visitors come to the event, which has been taking place since 1970.

New this year is the expansion of the city festival to Sunday and additional venues in Bergheim, including the cultural and creative business center Department 16, the old indoor pool, the adult education center and others.

Family Autumn and Heidelberg Shopping Sunday 2015, Heidelberg Autumn will take place on Saturday, September 26th, from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. and for the first time also on Sunday, September 27, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. During the family autumn there are offers for young and old in numerous inner city squares and in Bergheim. On the back of the Universitätsplatz there will be a medieval market for the whole family on both days , the so-called "Churpfälzer Markt", where a bathhouse and a tavern can be found and a large number of performers provide entertainment.

For the first time, the shops in the city center, Bergheim and other parts of the city are open on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. as part of the big city festival. Event area On the squares of the old town ( market square , Kornmarkt , Karlsplatz , Universitätsplatz , Fischmarkt , Heumarkt , Marstallhof ) as well as in the Bergheim district on the square in front of the old indoor swimming pool, there is a wide range of musical styles in different styles.

On the main street there is a large handicraft market, where Heidelberg clubs present themselves with information and food stalls. The shops in the main street and in the market hall in the old indoor swimming pool not only offer extended opening times, but also, like the Heidelberg restaurants, some special offers for this occasion. A flea market takes place between Universitätsplatz and Kornmarkt during the Heidelberg autumn. There is a separate flea market for children in the school yard of the Theodor-Heuss-Schule, where children up to the age of 13 can offer their goods. Another flea market and a children's paradise can now be found on the square or in the old indoor swimming pool in the Bergheim district.
