It is located in a corner at the confluence of Heidestrasse and Salzmannstrasse in the Sudenburg district . The building, which is also listed, borders on Heidestrasse 17 to the northwest .
Architecture and history
The four and a half story house was built in 1891 for the timber merchant Friedrich Klaus. The representative plastered building is decorated on the facade in the area of the windows with a simple stucco decoration in the style of late classicism . The facade is structured by rustication and cornices . The building has a mezzanine floor with oculi . The roof protrudes a little and rests on console stones.
The building is considered to be significant in terms of urban development and, as part of a completely preserved line of streets from the Wilhelminian era, characterizes the street scene.
In the local register of monuments , the house is listed as a monument under registration number 094 82023 . Presumably by mistake, the house is also listed at Salzmannstraße 24 with registration number 094 77007.
