Cours is a French municipality with 554 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Deux-Sèvres in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Poitou-Charentes ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Niort and the canton of Autize-Égray (until 2015: canton of Champdeniers-Saint-Denis ). The inhabitants are called coursois .

Cours is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Pamplie in the north and north-west, Les Groseilles in the north, La Boissière-en-Gâtine in the north and north-east, Saint-Marc-la-Lande in the north-east, Champdeniers in the east and south-east, Germond-Rouvre in the south, Sainte-Ouenne to the south and south-west and Surin to the west and south-west.
