Heidrun Mollenkopf

Heidrun Mollenkopf (born August 26, 1940 ) is a German sociologist and gerontologist . As one of the first sociologists, she moved the use of technology to improve the quality of life in old age into the focus of scientific research.

Life

Mollenkopf studied sociology, psychology and education in Erlangen, Mannheim and Berlin and did his doctorate on the integration of old people through the use of modern technology. She was a research assistant at the University of Mannheim , then at the Social Research Center in Berlin and finally until 2004 at the German Center for Aging Research in Heidelberg.

She is a member of the Expert Council of the Federal Working Group of Senior Citizens' Organizations and is active in numerous committees at national and European level.
