Heike Bruch

Heike Bruch (born November 17, 1966 in Cologne ) is a Swiss business psychologist and professor of business administration and leadership at the University of St. Gallen .

Career

Heike Bruch is the daughter of Wolfgang and Isa Bruch. In 1987 she began her studies at the Free University of Berlin and obtained a Master of Business Administration in 1991 . From 1991 to 1996 she did her doctorate at the University of Hanover and wrote her dissertation . She completed her habilitation in 2001 at the University of St. Gallen on “Leaders' Action”.

She heads the Institute for Leadership and Personnel Management in St. Gallen, is a member of the Research Association for National Economy, the directorate of the Institute for Leadership and Personnel Management and the Research Commission of the University of St. Gallen. She also sits on the preparatory committee of the School of Management and is a member of the Advisory Board and the Expert Council of the Center for Disability and Integration.

Research priorities

In her research, Bruch moves primarily in the areas of leadership, energy & commitment, healthy high performance, and new forms of leadership and work. She deals with the influence of emotions , energy and focus on the performance of a single manager but also of an entire company. She has been repeatedly recognized as a leading researcher in human resources research in German-speaking countries. Her research is also concerned with new forms of work and how best to lead, as well as with the topic of speed, i. H. how leadership and culture can help companies to be innovative, fast and adaptable.
