Holy Cross Church (Neuenbürg)
De Heilig-Kreuz-Kirche in Neuenbürg in the Enzkreis in Baden-Württemberg is a Roman Catholic parish church that was built in 1927/28 according to plans by Hans Herkommer .
history
As a predecessor building for the Catholic community there was a chapel to the Holy Cross on the site of the current church since 1883, which gave way to today's Holy Cross Church built according to plans by Hans Herkommer in 1927/28. The small plot of land and the heavy traffic on the road to the north forced Herkommer to come up with an unusual architectural solution, with a windowless north side and a largely integrated tower.

The church has a rectangular structure and the altar area faces east. It is covered by a pent-like roof, from which protrudes in the southwest corner, also covered by a pent roof, integrated to the west and only protruding slightly to the south. The north side has no windows, while on the remaining sides of the building narrow, arched windows, and in the base of the tower, a vestibule formed by arched arcades structure the facade. The plastered facade of the church is also structured by roughly hewn stone, with which the round arches of the windows and the entrance arcades are framed, and which also form a half-height frieze surrounding the building as well as some round arched gables on the south side. A few more ashlar stones protrude from the plastered facade as indicated corner blocks or in other places.
The high arched windows contain colored glass windows with Christ the King motifs. In the interior there is also a 14-part sequence of the Stations of the Cross in high relief. The choir wall is adorned with a simple cross, and a gallery has been drawn into the west side of the church .
