Most Holy Trinity (Liubavas)
Most Holy Trinity Liubavas ( Lithuanian Liubavo Švč. Trejybės bažnyčia ) is a Catholic church built in 1956 in Liubavas in the municipality of Kalvarija (Deanery Marijampolė , Diocese Vilkaviškis , Lithuania ), 2 km northeast of the Lithuanian- Polish border.
history
A chapel was first built around 1717 . In 1770 the elder Juozas Kazlauskas built the church; a parish and parish school were founded. In 1776, 15 Włóka land was dedicated to the church . After the church burned down in World War I, a new wooden church with two towers was built in 1931, which was destroyed in World War II.
In 1956 a wing was converted into a cemetery chapel .
