The medicinal plant science or phytopharmacognosy is the study of the plants used or usable for medicinal purposes, the medicinal plants . Medicinal herbalism is a branch of herbal medicine and therefore a branch of pharmaceutical biology .

Her field of work includes the systematisation and analysis of medicinal plants and their ingredients as well as the investigation of previously unexplored plants. Herbalism is a branch of science that combines geobotanical , pharmacological , phytochemical , human biological and biochemical aspects with therapeutics .
