The Salvation Army Museum for Switzerland, Austria and Hungary has existed since 1999. With its exhibits and the documents collected in the archive, it aims to show the development of the religious movement from its inception to the present day. This is intended to carry the visionary and missionary courage of the first Salvationists into the present day. The museum explains the origins and importance of the Salvation Army since it was founded in 1865 by William and Catherine Booth as a "Christian Mission" in east London, which has been called the "Salvation Army" since 1878. The permanent exhibition documents the work of the founding couple, and it shows the actions as well as the human and spiritual values ​​of the international movement working in 128 countries.

In addition to uniforms from all eras, furniture, musical instruments, books and pictures are on display in the exhibition.

Under the title: "On the way - The Salvation Army yesterday, today and tomorrow", visitors to the new exhibition are invited to look at the past, see the present and help sketch the future of the Salvation Army. With stories, objects, multimedia and interaction, the guests should get an insight into the varied organization. The exhibition can only be visited by appointment.

A much-noticed exhibition about the Salvation Army in the cinema was to be extended until the end of 2020, but had to be closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
