Niederense local history museum
The Niederense local history museum is located in the Niederense district of the Sauerland municipality of Ense in the Soest district . The local museum provides an insight into the trade, craft and industrial history of the region on three floors. In addition to a loom , furniture, kitchen and household items, there are exhibits from a veterinary practice and a shoemaker's workshop.
One focus of the exhibition is the Möhne disaster . Particularly worth seeing is a model of the Himmelpforten monastery that was torn away by the tidal wave .
