Radevormwald local history museum

The local history museum in Radevormwald is located in Hohenfuhrstrasse directly opposite the town hall of Radevormwald in the Oberbergisches Kreis in North Rhine-Westphalia , Germany . It is intended to document the city's history using exhibits or pictures and make it vividly visible.

General

Reopening on March 27, 2005 with a museum festival

From autumn 2004 to spring 2005, the museum was under renovation as the exhibition area was extended to the second floor. The reopening took place on March 27, 2005 with a large two-day museum festival.

So far around 30 exhibitions have taken place, which were presented alternately in a separate room.

The museum is supported by the Radevormwald Local History and Tourist Association (HVV), which was founded in 1925. In 2004, 430 citizens, associations or companies were members of the association.

Exhibits

  • Hugo Kämper's rescue medal: He rescued a passenger from a crashed Lufthansa plane, see article Hahnenberg .
  • An extensive postcard collection with old views from Radevormwald.
  • Documents and objects from the history of well-known and large Radevormwald companies, for example the Bismarckwerk or Hudora .
  • Old household items from the Bergisch area.
  • Documents on railway history, etc. a. an original excerpt from the railway accident.

The Heimatmuseum has a selection of videos and writings that are available for purchase. Among other things, a Bismarck cycling festival from the year was published as a video. The most important publication is the Rader Dialect Dictionary.
