Mandy Smith (* 17th July 1970 as Amanda Louise Smith in London ) was in the 1980s under its name as a model known and singer.

Life

Smith first made headlines when she dated Bill Wyman , 33 years her senior, at the age of 14 , whom she married on June 2, 1989. The marriage was divorced after two years. She worked through her time with Wyman in the autobiography It's All Over Now (1994).

Smith worked as a model until she got a recording deal in 1986 and recorded her first album Mandy with the production team Stock Aitken Waterman . With the singles I Just Can't Wait, Positive Reaction (1987), Boys and Girls and Victim of Pleasure (1988), she made it into the German charts four times. In Great Britain she never had the breakthrough, as she was more or less boycotted by the radio and television stations due to the scandal with Wyman. However, it was very successful in large parts of Europe, especially in Scandinavia, Italy, Switzerland and Japan. Nevertheless, their last single was released in 1989 with the Human League cover Don't You Want Me Baby . Around 20 years after its first release, the album Mandy was re-released on CD in 2009 with numerous bonus tracks; including the original version of Got to Be Certain , a big hit for Kylie Minogue in 1988 .

On June 19, 1993 she married the soccer player Pat Van Den Hauwe . This marriage also ended in divorce. She has been married to Ian Mosby since 2002. Their son was born in 2001.

Smith currently lives in Manchester with her son . There she runs the marketing company Kiss PR with her sister Nicola.
