Heini Staub (born October 25, 1957 in Arosa ) is a former Swiss ice hockey player .

Career

Heini Staub, who grew up in Arosa , completed his junior career at EHC Arosa . In the 1974/75 season, the defender played in the first team for the first time at the age of 16. In the following years he became more and more a supporting pillar of the club, with which he was promoted to the National League A in 1977. This was followed by Dust's most successful years in sport: As playing partner of Andreas Ritsch and Ruedi Kramer , he won the championship title with the EHC Arosa in 1980 and 1982 . He also finished second with the EHC Arosa in 1981 and 1984, and third in the Swiss championship in 1985. Dust's most outstanding season was 1983/84 with a total of 18 scorer points (10 goals, 8 assists).

After EHC Arosa's voluntary relegation to the first division in 1986 , Staub moved to SC Bern for two years . From 1989 to 1991 he played for HC Friborg-Gottéron in the top division before ending his playing career at the age of 34. Dust also played 57 times for the Swiss national team.

Heini Staub has been an insurance salesman in Arosa since his resignation. He works as an assistant and junior trainer for his parent club EHC Arosa. He also acts as the official driver liaison for the Arosa ClassicCar . Heini Staub is a nephew of Olympic ski champion Roger Staub and the son of the former EHC Arosa goalkeeper Hans Staub.
