Heinrich Braun (* 1959 ) is a German computer scientist and has been a professor of computer science at the technical faculty of the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University in Karlsruhe (former Karlsruhe University of Cooperative Education ) since 2005 .

Life

Braun studied computer science at the University of Karlsruhe . After receiving his diploma here in 1985, he devoted himself to his doctorate in computer science on combinatorial optimization problems , which he completed in 1990.

From 1993 to 1994 he was a member of the Prerational Intelligence research group at the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Bielefeld .

In 1996 he completed his habilitation in computer science, after which he switched to SAP that same year . In the following year, 1997, Braun became project manager for the development of optimization algorithms in the Advanced Planning & Optimization (APO) department . In January 2000 he was promoted to Development Manager for the topic of optimization algorithms at SAP.

In 2005 he became a professor at the Karlsruhe University of Cooperative Education (today's Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University). There he is the course director and teaches the learning units “Theoretical Computer Science”, “Formal Languages ​​and Automata” and “Evolutionary Algorithms”. He is also responsible for the technical advice for the Master in Computer Science.
