Dollartshammer was a riding factory and copper farm in the area of today's town of Stolberg (Rhld.) At the southern exit of Oberstolberg in the Vicht valley . It was first mentioned in a document on December 21, 1464.

In 1543, during the War of the Geldrian Succession, the dollar hammer was robbed by soldiers. Between 1708 and 1714 Christian Prym (1676–1747) acquired the Dollart hammer from the old Prym copper master family , which his descendants later expanded to include the so-called "Salzwerk" works and the "Derichsberger Mühlen" hammer mills. The Dollart hammer thus became the cradle of the internationally active company William Prym GmbH & Co.KG , which specialized in haberdashery .

Heinrich Dollart

In 1497 the Dollart hammer was leased to the Aachen lay judge Heinrich Dollart as a hammer mill in order to process copper, iron, lead, gold and silver there. It is probably the oldest equestrian center in the Vichttal. Heinrich Dollart was executed in 1508 because he was accused by one of his servants of complicity in stealing silver bullion.

Heinrich Dollart had the Great House of Aachen built in neighboring Aachen in 1495, two years before he moved to the Vicht .
