Heinrich Endres (librarian)

Heinrich Endres (born August 7, 1888 in Karlstadt a. M .; † October 14, 1969 ) was a German librarian.

Life

Endres studied classical philology and history and received his doctorate in Würzburg in 1913 . The following year he started as a research assistant at the University Library of Würzburg , where he became an intern in 1916. In 1919 he went to the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek in Munich, where he passed his specialist examination. In the same year he became an assistant in the University Library of Würzburg, where he stayed until his retirement in 1953. Endres excelled in particular as a binding researcher and published numerous specialist articles.
