Heinrich Zwick

Heinrich Zwick was first mentioned in St. Gallen in 1437 († around 1458 ibid) and was a mayor of St. Gallen ( Switzerland ).

Life

Heinrich Zwick was the son of his father of the same name, Heinrich Zwick, a cloth merchant. His brother was Othmar Zwick, from 1435 to 1437 Stadtammann in Konstanz .

He made a considerable fortune as a cloth merchant and worked several times as a hospital nurse, sieve maker and fish appraiser. He was one of the leading people in the Diesbach-Watt-Gesellschaft, a leading international trading company at the time, founded by Niklaus von Diesbach from Bern and the brothers Peter and Hug von Watt.

From 1437 to 1458 he alternated with Konrad Curer (elected 1436), Rudolf Gelter (elected 1439), Ulrich Säri (elected 1440), Konrad Hör (elected 1444), Konrad von Anwyl (elected 1444), Andreas Vogelweider (elected in 1447) and Johannes von Widenbach (elected in 1454) mayor, former mayor and imperial bailiff of St. Gallen every three years .
