Heinrich von Sax (* around 1194; † after 1236) was a German minstrel .

life and work

Heinrich von Sax was born in the castle of his ancestors, the Sax family. He was a brother of Ulrich von Singenberg .

He came from the Sax or Hohensax family, an art-loving family. He was an ancestor of Hohensax (1550–1596) , a well-educated man. Hohensax owned the Heidelberg manuscript , which he kept in Fortes Castle.

Heinrich often stayed at the court of Heinrich VI and Friedrich II . on.

Heinrich von Sax left a great literary legacy, including numerous poems, a corpse and four songs.
